Whether you're new to club volleyball or returning to chase your next goal, Turtle Volleyball Club offers a competitive, supportive, and skill-focused environment where players are known, challenged, and encouraged to grow.

Date: 10-12 AM, Saturday, August 15, 2026
Location: Jefferson Middle School, 1372 E Las Tunas Dr, San Gabriel, CA 91776
Check-in: 30 minutes before your tryout time
Age Groups
We are forming teams for:
12U, born on or after July 1 2014
13U, born on or after July 1 2013
14U, born on or after July 1 2012
15U, born on or after July 1 2011
16U, born on or after July 1 2010
17U, born on or after July 1 2009
Age eligibility is based on standard US club volleyball age definitions for the 2026–27 season. If you are unsure which age group to select, register and we will confirm placement.
Tryout Format
Tryouts are designed to evaluate both skills and team fit. Athletes can expect:
Dynamic warm-up and movement assessment
Ball control and fundamental skill stations (passing, serving, setting, attacking)
Position-specific reps (as appropriate)
Competitive drills and game play
Coach observation of attitude, communication, and coachability
What to Bring
Athletic shoes (court shoes recommended)
Knee pads (recommended)
Water bottle
Tryout number confirmation (email or screenshot)
Positive attitude and readiness to compete
How Teams Are Selected
We evaluate athletes using multiple criteria, including:
Athletic movement and court awareness
Passing and serve-receive consistency
Serving performance and pressure response
Setting/attacking mechanics (as applicable)
Coachability, effort, and attitude
Communication and teamwork
Our goal is to build teams that are competitive and supportive, with clear development pathways for athletes.
Team Commitment (Season Overview)
Selected athletes can expect:
Weekly practices (typically 1–3 sessions/week depending on team level)
Local tournaments and/or league play
Optional skills clinics and position training opportunities
A development-first environment with competitive standards
Full season details (practice schedule, tuition, and tournament plan) will be provided with offers.
Offer Timeline
Same-day or next-day notifications for many athletes
Some age groups may require a second evaluation session depending on turnout
Families will receive an email with offer details, deadlines, and next steps
